A touchscreen kiosk that sells more. Baskets up 19% in month one.
Uniware has provided EPoS and payment solutions for over 25 years. Our UX design built its new touchscreen kiosk and CMS around how people make buying decisions, quick enough for a queue and flexible enough for many retail settings, and average basket size rose 19%.

01 — The constraint
Complex choices, one simple screen.
Uniware needed a kiosk that could handle a huge range of product types, customisation and client branding without cluttering the screen or slowing the queue, and adapt to different sectors and future needs.
02 — What we built
UX design built around buying psychology.
We started with research into how people make purchasing decisions and how placement in a storefront prompts action, then mapped user flows, wireframed and prototyped to minimise complexity without losing function.
- A touchscreen kiosk UI with the fewest possible steps to order
- A new CMS designed to avoid common industry pitfalls
- Space for each client’s branding and advertising, without clutter
- Layouts that adapt to screen size, height, vision and hearing needs
03 — The outcome
Simpler to use. Bigger baskets.
The system simplifies interaction without sacrificing interactivity, scales across product types and retail environments, and stays practical for merchants. Since deployment with Uniware customers, average basket size rose 19% in the first month.
