Making data beautiful at Cannes Lions. Over 600 leads in five days.
Verve tracks how imagery is used across media, and Getty Images is the world’s largest image library. Our UX-led app, The Art of Data, turned each person’s emotional response to images into a unique 3D artwork, and generated over 600 leads in five days at Cannes Lions.

01 — The constraint
Data and creativity rarely share a stage.
Verve needed to show creative industries how data can elevate media campaigns, with Getty Images as its partner, and to cut through at Cannes Lions, an international festival of creativity that draws key industry figures.
02 — What we built
A UX-led app that creates art, without AI.
A UX-led build focused on usability and accessibility, so anyone could engage straight away. Users answer questions about their emotional response to Getty Images photography, and each answer has a weighted effect on their final artwork.
- Real-time, responsive 3D artworks unique to each user
- Access across all devices and platforms
- Live display on large screens across the event
- Data capture linked to galleries and the wider app
- Artworks users could keep and share
03 — The outcome
A proof of concept that generated leads.
Artworks became in-the-room graphics and were kept and shared after first use, creating further data opportunities. At Cannes Lions the app generated over 600 leads in five days, with 1,600 users and 4,000 minutes of interaction.
