24/7 Prayer’s Lectio 365 app is a daily devotional resource for a global community. Over a multi-phased partnership, Wonderful helped evolve the app’s core experience, brand, and user journey, delivering a more intuitive, welcoming, and engaging platform designed to turn downloads into daily habits.
Chapter One: A Full App Redesign
The journey began with an initial brief to redesign the Lectio 365 app. The goal was to create a more beautiful, contemplative, and user-friendly experience. A key part of our solution was the introduction of a new, intuitive Day/Night feature. This used 24/7 Prayer’s core blue and green brand colours to create a distinct and calming atmosphere for the morning and evening prayer sessions.
This phase also established a new, immersive photography treatment. The refined visual style and improved functionality created a more premium feel, laying a strong foundation for the app’s future.
Chapter Two: A Third Rhythm
Following the successful redesign, 24/7 Prayer decided to expand the app’s offering by introducing a third, midday prayer. This presented a new and interesting UX challenge: how to adapt the successful binary Day/Night system to accommodate a third state without disrupting the user experience or the established brand identity.
Our THINK phase involved deep UX workshops and brand exploration. After presenting several visual concepts, a new, warm yellow was chosen to represent the midday prayer. The solution was so well received that 24/7 Prayer agreed to expand the app’s colour palette, creating a distinct and ownable identity for the midday prayer.
Chapter Three: A Data-Driven Onboarding Experience
With a thriving app, a new challenge emerged from the analytics: while app downloads were high, a significant number of users were not forming a lasting habit. To address this, 24/7 Prayer commissioned a dedicated project to overhaul the app’s basic onboarding process.
We conducted a focused UX discovery process, analysing user survey data and feedback to understand the drop-off points. The key insight was that new users often felt lost or disconnected. The solution was a completely redesigned onboarding feature that acted as a warm, spiritual invitation rather than a technical tutorial. This new flow was designed to welcome users, explain the ‘why’ behind the app, and gently guide them into their first devotional, aiming to foster a meaningful connection from day one.
